Hello and welcome to Dr. Tami talks. I'm your host, Dr. Tammy. Thanks so much for being here. I had the most delightful conversation with Joe Longo. It just finished. We just wrapped up and had another fascinating discussion afterwards. What I want to say about this is isn't political. What we're talking about is how this election. Offers us an opportunity to look at. Our ability to manifest and looking at these two candidates through the lens of what it is that they were able to manifest. My take is that both of these candidates are just master manifesters and we go into what it is that allowed them to be so successful to get this far. In their presidential race. And how we can leverage. These fundamental. Key pieces of manifestation for our own lives so that we can create the life, the families, the homes, the work, the communities. And the country that we so want to see. Come into. Realization actualization, right. We're birthing this forth all the time. And the purpose of this discussion for me was to let you leave. Maybe a little more educated about the process of manifestation, certainly empowered. And equipped with what you need to stay committed on the journey and see magic unfold in your life is always, I'm honored to be on the journey with you. I am delighted to share this episode of. Dr. Tammy talks with you. It was originally recorded on. Uh, Joe Longo's platform. So I'm going to segue out and bring that in and we kind of just pick up, I'm pretty sure mid-conversation. So I really hope you enjoy this show. And as always, I want to hear from you hit me up on Instagram, leave a review on apple. Podcasts it matters. And I would appreciate you so much as always. I'm sending you all the love. Enjoy.
Joe LongoOh my goodness. Uh, Tammy, it's so nice to see you. So nice to see you. Thanks for still being my friend. What?
Dr. Tami BerryDid you say something terrible about me? Is that why you're saying thanks for being my friend? Yeah, I did.
Joe LongoI said so many mean things about you.
Dr. Tami BerryLuckily for me, I'm learning not to take anything personally. Perfect.
Joe LongoPerfect. Perfect. Perfect.
Dr. Tami BerryWorking on it. Not caring what other people think. This is my life's work right now, Joe.
Joe LongoDoing what was that? Not caring what people think?
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. Working on it. Working on it.
Joe LongoThe same. Same. It can be very, um, uh, heartbreaking as well. So.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. Hey, do you mind sharing this with me? Can I share it on my podcast too?
Joe LongoYeah, for sure. And can we, um,
Dr. Tami BerryI
Joe Longomean, we are in a very tricky time and I'm all about being truthful and honest and loving and kind for the upliftment of everybody involved, not to say someone is right or wrong, but to look at the bigger picture of things, right? Like what's behind the game? And do we realize? There's a game that's being played.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. Well, this is interesting because that conversation gets super tricky really fast.
Joe LongoI know.
Dr. Tami BerryUm, because, and I think for so many of us, That's the reason why we have this epidemic of, of burnout right now. Right? Let me make sure that this is recording.
Joe LongoOkay. We're recording already. Just, you know, like wherever you're listening, here we
Dr. Tami Berryare. Here we are. Dr. Tammy, Joe Longo, Professor Joe, Dr. Tammy, Barry here, hanging out, talking shop. But And we're diving right in. We're not even, we're just like, let's go.
Joe LongoThere'll be good stuff here.
Dr. Tami BerryI really believe so. I know so. But what I think is a really fascinating conversation, there's a massive awakening taking place.
Joe LongoMassive. 100%. 100%.
Dr. Tami BerryAnd I am celebrating that. And every awakening is painful. Okay. It's required. It's required. Like we can't expect that this is like, I've given birth twice. That shit is messy. Okay. Birthing the creation, the creative process is messy. It's not for the faint of heart. I truly believe that we are being called and being asked to access. So like such deep levels of courage and faith and fortitude right now. And I want to share why I think it's why why this election actually has left me ridiculously fired up and inspired and I know you're gonna love this. I want to plug before before I like jump into that because I know you're a Neville Goddard fan just like I am. And Neville Goddard, as one of his like favorite quotes that he repeats from William Blake. so much. That was like a commentary about how the founding fathers of America did not believe in the idea of America. I mean, they did that, but they believed it into existence. They believed so fiercely in the face of, I mean, when you, one of my favorite books of all time is 1776, it is a marvel of a read. When you see what was against them. The odds in the creation of this country, it will, it will light you, you will just love to be an American with this story because we weren't supposed to win. Like we, we weren't supposed to be a, we weren't supposed to be birthed as a nation. Right. And we're young. It's really important. I think that we realized that, that we actually put it in context. We're young. We are a young democracy going through growing pains. But what I loved is that our founding fathers. I believe so fiercely in the idea of a free country that it became manifest despite all logic, despite all circumstances, foreign powers that had far more money and militia and resources like should have never happened, but it did. We're here. It did. And I just want to say Trump is a master manifester.
Joe LongoSee, now I want it to litter. And I'm glad that we're recording this because I want this to be out there. Literally Tammy. I wanted to talk to you about saying that openly because it's going to be, and I'm just saying this from my personal experience over the last two days. I would not be surprised if you receive messages from people saying very unnice things to you for what you just said. And what did I say
Dr. Tami Berrythat's controversial? Out of curiosity.
Joe LongoExactly. Tammy. Exactly. And that's why I wanted to have this conversation because we've gotten to a point where by you mentioning that man's name. And being a master at something has now put you in alignment with him and whatever beliefs the outside world has of that man.
Dr. Tami BerryEverybody's entitled to have their opinion. Like I'm not here to change anybody's mind. I'm seriously not sue and me
Joe Longoeither. Me either. I'm here. This is you, to keep your
Dr. Tami Berryopinion
Joe Longoright. So we hundred percent circled this into manifestation and manifesters. Yeah, our for sure. And our KAM activating system.
Dr. Tami BerryI also wanna say Kamala is a master manifester. She just didn't have as long of a runway. Trump's been visualizing this reelection cycle for years. Mm-Hmm. Kamala's been busy. Vice presidenting, doing her thing, pushing agendas for the American people, working on policy, getting it in. She was ready to back Biden. Then there's like this switcheroo, she gets put into this position where she's running as president, like for the presidential race with such, she went toe to toe with this man. And she, like, I want to say the, both of these candidates and Kamala might even be But in terms of prowess, the more powerful manifesto because she created a movement behind her with very little. Pre, you know, like a runway, you know, like you take off like a plane. You gotta like get some momentum before you can take flight
Joe LongoMm hmm. Can I can I come in and piss people off now, please? As a manifestation coach if I was working with Kamala, you know what I would have had her hone in on You know what? She missed out on being the man in the master manifester Her why. Her why was not clear. I have no idea what her why was. And really interesting, have you ever watched the show Veep with Julia Louis Dreyfus on HBO? I haven't. Oh my gosh. But I
Dr. Tami Berryhave two young children.
Joe LongoNo, it's old. I know it's old. I feel so weird saying it's old because then I'm like, am I old, right? Yes, we are, Joe. It's from 2016. I'm
Dr. Tami Berry45 years old. I'm old.
Joe LongoI'm gonna be 50. So, in Veep. Fuck yeah, hell yeah. Congratulations. Congratulations. Thank you. And congratulations to you too. I highly recommend everybody watching. It's funny. It's a great laugh. And
Dr. Tami BerryI love Julia. She's so great.
Joe LongoIn one of, I don't remember what season, but she's running for president. And her press secretary, everybody is like, we need to know why. Like, we, like, You have to start talking to people. We need to know why. And the whole episode, she's like, everybody she's talking to, why do you, why would you want to be president? Why would you, you know, and she's exploring trying to figure out her why of being the president and the most important thing when we are manifesting is why do we want the thing that we want? What is our why? Not the how's it going to happen, but what is the why that I want this thing for?
Dr. Tami BerryI feel like, cause that's such an intro. I can't comment on whether or not nobody knows. I mean, I don't know
Joe Longoher why,
Dr. Tami Berrybut I can, I do want to, I think there's enough conversation here for the things that we do know.
Joe LongoI'm just like, if I'm just, if I was a coach working with her, I would have said, tell me your wife, tell me, like, make me, make me feel why you want this because you know, the feeling is the secret.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. Yeah.
Joe LongoSo
Dr. Tami BerryI think, I think, you know, because I've been like, I opted out, I've been opting out of a lot of things lately. Ah, God bless. I've opted out of like, I opt out of the news cycle. I'm gonna hear what I need to hear, right? I knew hurricane Helene was like, I know big event like you're gonna know big events. You know what you need to know So I didn't get caught up in any of the rhetoric and the narrative and the Slander. Like, honestly, the only time I saw it, like, you know, recently it, you can't watch a football game without, you know, 500 political
Joe Longoads
Dr. Tami Berryshowing up, you know? So it's like Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger football. So this is my world. And, but did you know, I do think this is very interesting. Are you familiar with Norman Vincent Peale? At all. Why does
Joe Longothat sound so familiar?
Dr. Tami BerrySo,
Joe Longohe.
Dr. Tami BerryIs
Joe Longohe a writer?
Dr. Tami BerryYes. So, he popularized the notion of positive thinking. Of thoughts. Yeah. Yeah. There
Joe Longowe go. There it is. Right? Yep. Mm
Dr. Tami Berryhmm. I mean, he was born in the 1800s. Okay? He's an old man. He died in 1993. He was also a clergyman. Did you know this was his pulp? But he stood at the pulpit right on a regular weekly basis and, and professed how you could create your own reality. Donald Trump is a young boy in the audience.
Joe LongoThere you have it. I heard this story before.
Dr. Tami BerryI probably told you the story before.
Joe LongoProbably go ahead. I probably told you
Dr. Tami Berrythe story for the first election. When I was like, let me tell you, when we were in private and like, I wasn't ready to have outward conversations about manifestation because I was still a scientist. And like, I mean, I'm, I was a surgeon. You can't, you can't talk about this. And I am like, banishing, busting through self limiting beliefs. Interesting how we can change as well,
Joe Longohow we see things differently and perceive things differently.
Dr. Tami BerryAmazing. Right. Amazing. But I really thought this was important to have this conversation because I think, I think the message that I really want people to know, like my, why I'm like, I, when I messaged you and I was like, like, I want us to have this conversation because Yes. I want people. Yes. Process your emotions. Take care of yourself. Tend to yourself. Your nervous system is exquisitely important. You cannot manifest without a balanced one. It's like they're set like solid science science behind this, the field, right? Everything you're emanating is static. You need a clear field. Take care of you. Tend to yourself and then. I want everybody to realize that they have this opportunity to hold a vision for themselves, for their families, for our communities and for our country, because when we all hold a vision of the greatest good for everybody involved, that shit comes true. It comes true because your thoughts become things. And when you believe this, the way Don, like you could, you can, there is nothing you can tell that man. That will shake his foundation, like I look north, like his blinders are so thick. You could just say whatever you want and he's looking straight ahead.
Joe LongoYes. Um, have you, I don't know if we discussed this book, um, Napoleon Hill's book, Outwitting the Devil.
Dr. Tami BerrySo I've dabbled with it a little bit.
Joe LongoSo I haven't read the
Dr. Tami Berrywhole thing.
Joe LongoIt is terrifying.
Dr. Tami BerryOh. I find it to be
Joe Longoterrifying. It's a little unsettling because it feels, especially if you listen to the audio, as if you are having, listening to the devil talk. Right? Because it's an audio version. It's like he's interviewing the devil. Oh, I haven't
Dr. Tami Berryheard it on audio.
Joe LongoThe devil says, I put a post out about this yesterday. When you drift, I got you. When you're distracted, I got you. But when you can stay on point with that, right, with that vision, that goal, whatever it is that you are creating and bringing into reality and not be distracted by the world around us and you stay focused on your why, right? Your vision.
Dr. Tami BerryWell, the why fuels you. The why becomes the thing that allows you to block everything out because when your why is big enough. The vision becomes, you're able to stay more focused, right?
Joe LongoYeah, and the thing about our whys is they're so much more powerful when they're loved based whys. When it's not, I am against this thing, so I am going to do all I can before something, instead of being against. So whatever you're against, just flip it and I am for whatever you're against before that thing and then focus the attention and the awareness on the positivity, the love, the kindness that you want to see, that you want to feel, that you want to express in the world.
Dr. Tami BerryOkay. But Joe, do you not see how this runs counter to. If we're agreeing that Trump is a master manifester.
Joe LongoMm-Hmm.
Dr. Tami BerryThis man is wounded as all Fuck. Okay.
Joe LongoAren't we? Aren't we all?
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. Yeah, we are. But some of us try to heal a little bit before we, man, before we keep manifesting.
Joe LongoWe can't make assumptions. We can't make assumptions that somebody is, is in or is trying.
Dr. Tami BerryLet's be honest. Like, I'm going to speak to my audience because I know you people are big hearted, ambitious as fuck people who have been burning out because you're playing by a paradigm that no longer serves you and you're limiting, living in a set of limiting beliefs that have you think that you're fundamentally flawed, fucked up, broken. Fill in the blank. Okay, or
Joe Longoyou should be afraid right now,
Dr. Tami Berryor you should be afraid right now, which is not. None of it's true, right? The ability to see a thought and to witness it without believing it. Is your freedom all because it's when we believe our thoughts that we have an emotional reaction to our thoughts that now we're playing in the field the field is always the field is always responding the field is always responding and everything is feedback right so It's interesting that you said when your heart based and loving, this is a really powerful tool for manifestation. And it is, but it is, but I want to insert a caveat that it is not required. So tread lightly because you can, you can manifest anything you want, but you can also suffer merciful, like, let's be honest, cause we're that powerful. We've been designed with this magnificent power to create, like to. And I'm gonna raise my hand over here. I'm really good. I've been exquisitely skilled at making myself incredibly miserable. And then toxic positive, like gaslighting myself and practicing enough toxic positivity that I make it all okay. For another year. You know what I mean? Like, let's just keep going.
Joe LongoRight. I heard this young man earlier say, you know, we all have to look at our shadows and we have to look at that fear and where the thing is. And I'm not, I don't ever want anybody to think that I'm ever telling anybody to just be positive and just think of love. Right, but our heart is magnetic if we can bring our heart right, right, bringing Joey D into the into the mix, right, bringing our mind and our heart into coherence where it's functioning for us, right? So Tammy, you're a doctor. Can you tell the audience what happens to our brain when we're afraid?
Dr. Tami BerryWell, you are moved into the what's known as the reptilian brain, right? It just gives you an idea of the level of IQ that you have there, right? You're most primitive regions of the brain. And when we're in coherence, this is what I teach my clients. I actually, uh, my clients get biofeedback monitoring to master the skill and know that they're doing it in real time. So cool. But when we're in nervous system balance, when we're heart brain coherent, we're accessing the prefrontal. Right.
Joe LongoBut when we're afraid, we're not. Can we even get there if we're afraid?
Dr. Tami BerryNo, you can't.
Joe LongoSo tomorrow
Dr. Tami BerryI train clients on how to regain nervous system balance in under a minute. Right? You work with this biofeedback monitor on a daily basis, just a few minutes. Just a few minutes.
Joe LongoFew minutes. Simple daily practices. Right? Right.
Dr. Tami BerryA few minutes, daily practice, a lifetime of rewards, truly a lifetime of rewards. Because until you can self direct your thoughts and your emotions on command, you are reacting to life instead of creating it. Yes. Yes, and whenever we're reacting to life, we're just regurgitating the same patterns and the same experience over and over again. And then we wonder what the fuck, like, why is this so hard? And, and what's so interesting about it is I feel like so many people carry so much shame around what they're creating in their lives. I'm actually working on a book proposal right now because it's so important. Yeah, it is really exciting. It's really important to me that this message is spread far and wide and that. People know. That when your nervous system is dysregulated and when you're living from this reptilian part of your brain, you will behave in ways that embarrass you, a shame, like make you ashamed, leave you feeling guilty, frustrated, angry, pissed off, resentful, all of that shit on a daily basis. Right. And all of that is optional. All of that is optional, but we don't have conscious choice until we learn how to work with the nervous system to regain capacity of the prefrontal cortex. Now we have conscious choice. This is where innovation, creativity, the ability to become the master of your life lives here in the prefrontal cortex. It's the only thing that separates us from every other mammal. How about we have it for a reason? It's the thing that makes humans homo sapiens.
Joe LongoIt it's really magical. And I have been sitting with this, you know, just all of our reticular activating system and all of these things and how our brain works and thinking of young Joe, when young Joe was told you're a dummy, you're not a good test taker. So every time I went to take a test, I was filled with fear. I'm gonna fail. I don't know what I'm doing. My teacher called me a dummy. How am I gonna do this? That I couldn't remember a thing. I couldn't sure clearly because I was afraid but I didn't even know that I was Afraid I'm just a bad test taker. I guess right and I look back and I'm like, holy cow What if somebody told little Joe that if you're not afraid you can think clearer, right? The If you go into that test prepared, we have to prepare, right? And I thought I prepared, you prepare, and then you go into the test with the attitude. I prepared, I'm going to ace this test. I got this feeling, right? The heart space, the brain coherence, being prepared, our inspired action, right? In manifestation, you you're at least working at a higher level than going in being afraid.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah, it makes a difference.
Joe LongoRight. And I'm like, why does everybody talk about this? Why is nobody talking about this? Why is nobody talking about the fear that's pushed at us?
Dr. Tami BerryDo you think nobody's talking about it? Because we're talking about it. Well, you and me
Joe Longoare talking about it. Well, maybe Are we really
Dr. Tami Berrythe only leaders of this free world? I don't think so. I think there's a This conversation is taking place in me All over. We're just lucky enough to have found each other to have the conversation with.
Joe LongoOkay, so maybe there's some people having this conversation alone in their heads. I
Dr. Tami Berryreally, I have to believe so.
Joe LongoI hope so. And honestly, Tammy, I, I sit, I'm sitting in this space of, I have a fear Of what people may say just because we were talking about someone being a math, a master manifester, literally, like my brain is in fear,
Dr. Tami Berrylike, like, why, why do we care what people are going to think,
Joe LongoI think, because when we, Our heart based people and we work from our heart and we truly want the highest good for everybody involved every morning when I wake up, I lit my prayer is may I do everything that I can for the highest good of everybody involved. Maybe I'm just feeling a little sensitive because I got the shit beat out of me the last day and a half
Dr. Tami Berryfor
Joe Longosaying what I, that my opinion, my vote, because you asked, sorry, the people asked told you were going to ask me, I'm going to tell you, I'm not going to lie to you. But in that process, I've been sitting with all of this and is anybody thinking clearly and how was I thinking in 2016 when I wasn't thinking this way and how have possibly we as a society of people been manipulated through fear, keeping us stuck in this space of our brain that removes. Logical thinking is creating a creative
Dr. Tami Berrysolutions and innovation and collaboration and our ability. You know, that's so interesting to me because, you know, we can only see a problem from our current level of consciousness. And because I understand this so much now, you're talking about like old Joe past Joe, I look at past versions of myself and I am like bowing. I am like in frustration. I am throwing flowers at her feet. Like God, you didn't know shit. But you tried, you tried, like you were seeking, you were doing the best you could with what you've got. And I'm going to love you ever. Like I want everybody to know I love them. You don't have to agree with me for me to love you. You don't, you, you can say whatever you want to me. And I just become aware of your level of consciousness. It's not a problem. Love. I don't make it a problem. Your level of consciousness is not my problem. I know my lane. I know my lane. I know where I'm going. I know what I'm building. I know what I'm creating. You're welcome to come with me. Join. There's plenty of room. But if you've got anything to say, we're going. Like, we're cruising. I'm like waving in the distance. See you later. No problem. The train is moving. See you later. Come on, we're going to have a great fucking time. We're going to transform our lives. We're going to release limiting beliefs. We're going to, we're going to look at the parts of ourselves that are, that have, that, that we think are wounded, that we, that we've written off is not good enough, but we're going to look at them and we're going to shine a light on them. And we're going to say, Oh my God, how magnificent this messy, magnificent human that is me. Whoa. And we, as we come into this relationship with ourselves, we unleash so much from our heart because the love is not an emotion. It is a power. It is the power of life. I felt like I didn't realize this fully until I became a mother. Like every cell of my body, I'm still nursing the youngest one right now. Every cell of my body loves this little being. No matter what every cell of my body is like working hard to ensure his survival is mind blowing to me. This is fascinating. This is love in action. This is love in action. So whenever I want to get like sentimental, I'm like, Oh, right, right, right. That's the conditioned version of love that this society has like shown us in the movies growing up, right? Because of real love is, is power. It just does. There's no sentimentality.
Joe LongoRight. And every ounce of my being wants to say, and that's a true why, when you feel your why. In that way, you will make anything happen.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. I am so done. Like, I have realized my work is like, I am not allowing people to live in this idea that they just can't hang. They're fundamentally fucked up there. They got it all wrong. They, they're broken. I'm just not here for it. And what's really interesting when we look at people that are experiencing burnout, they're master manifestors. They just manifested from their wounding. So they created more suffering, right? Like they, they're manifesting from a place of not being good enough. And so everything that they do just actually amplifies not being good enough. And before you know it, you carry that message and you have internalized that message to the point that it will burn you out. Burnout is always a unhealthy relationship with oneself and adversarial relationship with oneself that shows up as stressful homes. Relationships with kids, spouses, finances, work, whatever.
Joe LongoSo how do we change our mindset without that fun word of spiritual bypassing? Right? How can we start looking towards that future vision that we're creating and also be like, okay, I see you fear, but I'm going to keep going.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah, I think it takes so. A lot of manifestation teachers. It's so funny that I'm like referring myself as a man. You are. I want to, that's the
Joe Longofirst step,
Dr. Tami Berryright? Let's own it right here. I feel like it's my coming out party.
Joe LongoOh, I'm so happy to be here with you. And I totally get it. I was having a conversation with someone about it the other day. I was like, when I first started, I'm like, wait a minute. I'm calling myself a manifestation coach. What?
Dr. Tami BerryWell, not really. I'm calling myself a master mindset coach, but I'm also, I'm also a metaphysician. I'm a metaphysician who plays with mastering your mind, but I want to get back to your question, which is, cause there's that fear, right? For example, I have a very real lived experience of this. Like recently I'm having a reaction right now. You can't tell. Right. Um, so I think. In order to not fall into the spiritual bypassing, we want to cultivate self respect before anything else. Self respect, self honoring, which means every feeling, every thought is allowed. Every thought, every feeling, when we interact with it as feedback, as valuable data points, that tell us something. About what we believe we have opened a massive gateway to transformation because as long as you're thinking a thought or feeling a feeling and you're just assuming it's true. And you're not willing to look at it and feel and experience it and get curious about it. Like, Ooh, can I get closer to it? Where does it live? What does it say? Oh, that's so interesting. I use thought offloading to help me process stressful thoughts and emotions, right? Because you can't ignore them. I mean, you can, um, but they will thwart you until you respect them and honor them for the fact that they exist.
Joe LongoI want to be that person that says, yeah, but
Dr. Tami Berryjust
Joe Longoto be that guy, because I used to be that guy. So because I used to be that guy, of course, people now are showing up in my life, being that version of me showing me the yeah, but right. So tell me that sounds beautiful. Yeah. But how am I supposed to do that when everybody's yelling at me and picking him, picking on me and telling me all this shit that I'm not smart enough and I can't do it. And I'm stuck here.
Dr. Tami BerryThat's, that's when you get a coach.
Joe LongoYou just, uh, I fucking love you.
Dr. Tami BerryI'm being totally serious.
Joe LongoWell, how am I supposed to do that in this world where the economy is so bad? Like, it's just hopeless. Well,
Dr. Tami Berrythere's Joe Longo, there's Dr. Tammy, there's investments. Like, this is an investment in your future. I don't even know. Like, all of a sudden I turned into an infomercial, but, but seriously, it'll change your life. Right? Like my clients are starting new businesses, generating passive income streams, transforming marriages, healing relationships with children, starting entire new careers. It almost sounds like
Joe Longoyou're helping them realize that they're
Dr. Tami Berrymagic,
Joe Longoinfinite, sovereign, creative beings.
Dr. Tami BerryThis is who I work with. This is who wants to work with me. And we merge science, right? Like this is. I love science. I love merging science and spirituality. I think the human species is divine. We've been created as creators. This is on purpose. When you know how you've been designed, and I teach my clients this piece, Because when you know how it is that you're creating and recreating, and then you work with somebody who has such exquisite levels of compassion, who is judgment free, who refuses to shame or blame you, who has always committed to the highest vision of you and your success and refuses to believe anything else about you ever. Remember, this is why you hire me. Because I hold this vision and everything else that you're working through, they're just stepping stones until you get there. I know where you're going. I know where you're going. So it's all okay. It's all allowed in the end. You win. You work with me. You win. In the end, we're all winning. And we get to tell the story from that place.
Joe LongoUh huh. You just said something that I find to be very, Uh, important. I get to tell the story. I get to create the story. And if we bring the awareness to wherever we are in our life, we've created this story and we have to take ownership for that. Not beat ourselves up about it.
Dr. Tami BerryRadical responsibility.
Joe LongoYes. 100%. Without
Dr. Tami Berryjudgment. Without shame. It's all just feedback. I'm going to say it a hundred times. It's all just feedback. Let it all just be feedback.
Joe LongoRight. Exactly. Exactly. And in that we grow. We program our supercomputer. Because literally, uh, what if the Holy Grail is hidden right inside of you? Uh, no shit. The listener, right? I know. You know, that's the trick. It's right inside. Can we get quiet enough? Right? Like the devil told Napoleon Hill, don't be distracted. When you are focused on your goals and your intentions, and you're not distracted, the devil said, I can't fuck with you. Doesn't mean you have to be a good person. Doesn't mean you have to be believe in God. Doesn't mean you have to be a straight white man. It doesn't mean anything. It just means some of my
Dr. Tami Berryclients have very different political views than I do. But their hearts are the same. It's so interesting because when you start talking through that stuff, you're talking about how do we create outcomes? We don't, like you said, we don't play in the land of how we play in the land. There's no need. And besides it takes all the fun out of it. Uh huh. Like, the how unfolding is the funnest part. Like I love it when I hear from my clients and they're like, I know you're not going to believe this. I mean, you are, but you're not because it's that crazy. But I know that like, you get it. This happened today. And I'm like, of course it did. Of course this huge deal just came through for you. Of course it did.
Joe LongoI just got the chills because honestly, that is the favorite, my favorite, favorite, favorite message to ever get when a client reaches out and says, you're never going to believe this. I'm like, nah, I believe it. I've just been waiting for you to tell me, waiting for you to step into it. I've been seeing it all along. It's right there in front of you. And you know, in that it's like, yes, you can, you've always, we always can.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. And this ability to be self directed. Right. Which is really what we're talking about to be self directed, to be able to direct your thoughts, to be able to direct your emotions. It's a skill. Yes. You're born with the ability. Okay. Just like everybody's born with the ability to ride a bike, to swim. To insert whatever, but you have to practice, right? There's a skill, right? You get, we go to swimming lessons sometime, right? The little ones are starting to, so there's lessons and there's practice and there's coaching and there's right. And how we develop this skillset. And there's so many of my clients stay with me for years because of the ongoing work is limit is how these self limiting beliefs play out in our everyday lives. And it's like, Oh, we just uncovered another one. Oh. And, and the moment of awareness is the moment of liberation. Right? Right there. So we, right. And we've practiced enough of the fundamentals. That now it happens.
Joe LongoYou catch yourself, you're like, wait a minute, what did I just say? No, I didn't. That was, and I've been, I may have said this to you before, but I've been enjoying when I catch myself. Because again, it's that process when we have the awareness, then we start catching ourselves doing the thing, right? Our pattern interrupt, or whatever, you know. I'll be like, Oh, that was 2016. Joe, that was 2014. Joe showing, uh, here comes 2008, Joe. Wow. How about that? And noticing the reactions, like when it, when those, when it comes up, those
Dr. Tami Berrypatterns become activated. Yeah. And like,
Joe Longowow, that's when
Dr. Tami Berryit's
Joe Longointeresting. Uh, and again, it becomes the, you know, the story that then we connect to hold on to. Define ourselves, usually because we feel crappy about whatever that story was, so we hold on to it even longer. Um, I have a question, I'll
Dr. Tami Berrybe rewritten by the way. Yes.
Joe LongoIt's totally. Yeah. You should
Dr. Tami Berrydo that. I mean, not you specifically. I mean, everybody. Right. Rewrite the replay. Go to dr. Tammy talk podcast. If you're not already a follower, rewrite the replay. That episode is going to change your life. Anything coming up, anything that comes up on replay. Rewrite it. It's coming up because there is medicine there for you when you go back and you rewrite it and that podcast episode will give you a practice, a powerful practice for rewriting it so that it serves you. And there's something there to be healed, right? There's a part of us that wants to be respected and loved and taken care of and tended to. We can do that now.
Joe LongoYes. A hundred percent. So, and when we were just talking about the simple practices, right? Doing those simple practices,
Dr. Tami Berrywe
Joe Longobring awareness to it and then we just were like, Oh, right. These are, if I live my life this way, doing these simple things, life will really be an amazing place for me. Most of those simple practices we are already doing. In the negative, right? Like we will come home and complain about, let me tell you about my boss and how horrible today was. And he was so crappy and crappy, crap, crap, crap, crap percent. And we don't think anything of it because it's just life, right? It's just, we're having dinner. How was your day, honey? Oh, my goodness. Oh, yeah. We don't
Dr. Tami Berryhave those conversations.
Joe LongoWell, this is for the listener. This is for the average Joe out there because I used to be
Dr. Tami Berrythe average Joe is listening to your show. Joe.
Joe LongoI don't know. I mean, I hope Joe and everybody, I think we
Dr. Tami Berryneed, I think, okay, off camera when we're done with that, I want to have a conversation with you about who you really are and what you're really doing here and who your people are.
Joe LongoAnd just so everybody knows, you know, there's a story of defending limitations that I tell Tammy was one of the coaches that pointed out, you know, some of the shitty things I was saying to myself over, over the years. Um, so yeah, I'm open to
Dr. Tami Berryit with so much love.
Joe LongoIt's like, Oh my goodness. Right. She said, how long are you going to keep defending your limitations? I don't know. Asshole.
Dr. Tami BerryYou know, I say that to my clients. I say it, I say, you know, what? You get to keep every limiting belief you want to fight for
Joe Longoyou get
Dr. Tami Berryto keep it. I am not fighting with you,
Joe Longobut the greatest awareness of when you actually realize that, oh my God, I actually was defending my limitation. Sure.
Dr. Tami BerryI had to have a coach say that to me. Right. Like,
Joe LongoI think all of us have.
Dr. Tami BerrySo it's just part of the, it's, it's, it's like, can we, I love those moments. I love those moments where I'm like, Oh, right. Yeah. Thank you for helping me see it. I don't like that. That's here. I don't necessarily like it, but you just saved me years of misery. So thank you. Yeah. This is why we have coaches. This is why I love coaches. I love that. I have so many coach friends
Joe Longoand it's, you know, that saying that there's so much going on that we don't know what we're doing. Literally, it's like we get good at something and we forget that we're good at it because we're doing it every day. So we don't even acknowledge that we're good at the thing anymore.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah, I think it's really important to have an intentional practice. Of seeing your own progress and celebrating. One of the things I force my clients to do is we celebrate our way to success. Yeah. We celebrate our way to success. We look at all of the ways that we're progressing and we're changing and we're shifting and we're growing and we're evolving and we're becoming who we want to be. Because if you don't live in the game, you will always live in the gap. And this is where a rival fallacy lives. Right. You can never get, you never get there. Yeah. And when you do get the lover, the bank account, the weight on the scale, the look, the whatever, you feel terrible. It's not enough. It didn't fulfill you because you didn't actually savor the journey of getting there. You never took the time to honor your own growth, your own evolution. And when you get off on that, the results just happen and you get to, you get to actually receive them and keep them. Because when you are not in alignment with a result, when it arrives, it'll, it'll. Leave you I'm interested in sustainable results.
Joe LongoMm hmm. And then holding on to them and the more we celebrate them the
Dr. Tami Berrymore we See that one.
Joe LongoAll right, and that's the thing in that whole idea of we we it's so funny Not funny because again, it's a simple practice gratitude. Can we be grateful for all of the things? Even when the bad thing happened, you know, we're not gonna be grateful right in the moment But shit, I look at my divorce and I'm grateful for that divorce You When it was happening, I was not grateful
Dr. Tami Berryfor
Joe Longoit, right? I wasn't
Dr. Tami Berrygrateful for my addiction, my drug habits, my spending habits. But yeah, I totally get it. And I also want to say, you know, my greatest addiction, and this is the pervasive addiction of most Americans, if not all, is an addiction to stress, an addiction to the hormones and the biochemical cocktail that stress is. And when that is pervasive, this conversation, this work feels like a dream that's out of reach, and so you give up on it. It's known as a learned helplessness. When you wanted to change your experience so many times and you haven't been able to because you didn't realize it was a capacity that has to be practiced. You have to, you don't have to, but if you want to master your life, you will want to learn how to rebalance your nervous system. You will want to learn. Part brain coherence, you will want to work with a practitioner with somebody who can help you master this so you can become self directed and create more of what you want and nobody is without the ability to do this. It's that the strategies and the tactics that most people are trying are fundamentally flawed because they do not recognize the importance of. imperative role that the nervous system has on the function of the brain and the amygdala, which is our emotional center, right? You can't mindset your way out of a dysregulated nervous system. And when you try, you suffer, you suffer, you suffer so much. And it's optional, optional.
Joe LongoYou said that so beautifully. Especially for where we are in our current time space continuum.
Dr. Tami BerrySure. Sure. I think this is a zeitgeist moment for this kind of work. And I'm just honored that I've been able to use my medical background. I've been able to leverage a massive life experience that took me to my knees. Because I, for the longest time, thought there was something wrong with me. That I was fundamentally flawed that I was broken that I was just somehow incapable of living life without ever knowing that like my capacitance was huge like my battery pack my ability to withstand stress was like I used to get off on it. I mean, you don't become a surgeon unless you can handle massive amounts of stress. But I hit a point where it had like a saturation point. This is what burnout is. Burnout is a saturation point of stress within the nervous system and the brain itself, where you actually lose capacity to be self directed and we make it a character flaw. We may get a moral failing when it's none of those things. It's neuro biologic and physiologic. And when you go there and you fix it there. You get to mindset your way to a magnificent life. It is so simple.
Joe LongoIt really is. It's it's hard. It's hard work, but it's the practice. It's only hard
Dr. Tami Berrybecause it's not something we've practiced before.
Joe LongoRight. But in a way, I still think we are practicing it unconsciously for the negative, you know, like we're not even aware of like the negative loops that we get in. And that, like, what if you got in a positive loop? Right. How we so easily will drop into a, uh, a worry loop and then we're worrying.
Dr. Tami BerrySure. And when you do, don't make yourself wrong.
Joe LongoDon't make yourself what?
Dr. Tami BerryMy clients are no longer allowed to be wrong. Every time you fall back into that pattern, can't you just see it and go, wow, that is one sticky motherfucking pattern? Like, damn, if that shit ain't embedded in so many neural networks, it just keeps popping up. Why are you making it about you? No, no. This narrative has to stop. You are not wrong. Nobody is ever wrong for falling into these patterns. They're, you're a mammal. You are like, you've been designed, right? Like this for a reason. But don't underestimate your influence when you're coherent. Do not underestimate your massive ability to change. Do not underestimate the impact your nervous system has on the nervous systems around you when you are clear and coherent and a force for so much love and joy and appreciation. Your home will change. Yeah,
Joe Longoeverything, everything will change
Dr. Tami Berryconstantly in communication with each other constantly. And the most coherent, it's like the largest pendulum in the shop, right? All of the other little pendulums will swing to the largest pendulum. When you're coherent, you are the largest pendulum. You don't have to be, you don't have to protect your energy and do all of this other manifestation defense tactics. You're the biggest energy anywhere you go, period.
Joe LongoSo is it safe to say then that you are the creator of your reality?
Dr. Tami BerryYes.
Joe LongoThat was really just kind of a joke because yeah, we are the creator.
Dr. Tami BerryYeah.
Joe LongoYeah. If
Dr. Tami Berryyou didn't get that by now,
Joe Longoyou didn't get it. Like all of it, all of it. So, so can you,
Dr. Tami Berryhow can we engage with that knowing that, right? Like, how can we take the blame and shame? A lot of people that come to me are consumed in shame for what they've created. And I've been there. Like, I, I was run, I was, I built this huge castle to realize it's the wrong fucking castle. Uh huh. Right? Or what is that analogy? You climb the ladder up the wall and find you're on the wrong wall, whatever.
Joe LongoRight. Right. And.
Dr. Tami BerryAnd then we're scared to try again, because what if we get it wrong? What's your relationship to yourself? If you get it wrong, are you going to have your own back because, because this is it, this is it. You've got to decide right now and forever more. You've got your own back. You're no longer willing to throw yourself under the bus. You're going to celebrate every time you fail. You're going to realize it's a pile of failures that lead to lead to success. And this is the epitome of a growth mindset.
Joe LongoCan I get an amen out out there? An amen, Sammy. This, this was magical as always.
Dr. Tami BerryThank you for having me. I really wanted us to have this conversation. I was excited. I was pumped up. I was like, who can I have this conversation with? You were the first. First person that came to
Joe Longomy mind. I appreciate that. And, you know, really circling back to those two kids that were just doing that thing and the, and the political environment. Um, yeah, both of them, they would not be in the position that they were in win or lose without being able to have a mindset to get them there.
Dr. Tami BerryFor sure.
Joe LongoRight. And cause like it or not, like either one of them or not, both of them have succeeded it in life. To get them to be in a place to say, I'm going to run for the president of the United States.
Dr. Tami BerryFor sure.
Joe LongoDislike them. And in that, I also think there is that wonderful lesson to be learned. Can you be clear and specific with your why?
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. I really think it's holding the vision. I really think the difference. How do you hold a
Joe Longovision without a why?
Dr. Tami BerryWell, that might be where the why matters. Thanks Right? Like, because the Y is the thing that has you hone in on the vision. And I almost think Kamala was coming in to, like, save the Democratic Party. And coming in to save women! And coming in as a, like, she was coming in as a little bit of a savior saint, right? Which is fine, but maybe I truly think if she had had a longer timeframe to hold the vision and, and like really amplify her, why she would have won. I really think that she is a master manifester. I think Donald has his own unique skillset because he, and I really use both of them as teachers. Like I am here to learn, like I am learning so much and I am getting clearer on my intentions. I hope that we're inviting people to practice three things. Pay attention, like know where your attention is going and always be curious about whether it serves you or not. Get clear on your intentions. What do you want to see happen for you, your life, the people around you, et cetera, and what attitude are you going to hold while you do that? Because those three things, your attention, your intention, and your attitude. Will determine your life.
Joe LongoThere you have it. There's your recipe. There's your recipe. Are you going to make your cake?
Dr. Tami BerryYeah. And I love playing with people that want to make a cake.
Joe LongoRight. Me too. Let's make a cake.
Dr. Tami BerryLet's see how big can the cake get. Let's see how good it can get. You know, one of my running messages is just like, how good can it get? I can't wait to find out.
Joe LongoRight. Exactly. And that's, can we be in that space of, I can't wait to see how much better it just keeps getting. Right.
Dr. Tami BerryOh, I can't wait. I mean, Joe, you and I met a long, long time ago. I was looking back at like some footage from like, oh my goodness gracious, nine or 10 years ago of myself that you helped, that you, that you helped film. And I was just like, wow, look at how far I've come. Look at how far we've all come. This is so fun.
Joe LongoHere we are. We just got to keep on keeping on.
Dr. Tami BerryOh, yeah. What's the alternative?
Joe LongoThere is none, right? Once you dip your toe in that reality that you are the creator of your reality, you can't take your foot back out of it. You're in it. You're the creator now.
Dr. Tami BerryWell, you just don't, I mean, it just gets so ridiculously good.
Joe LongoAwareness is a beautiful thing.
Dr. Tami BerryTotally.
Joe LongoIt's been so fun. Is that
Dr. Tami BerryArchangel? I say it's Archangel Michael. He's
Joe Longomy guy.
Dr. Tami BerryThat's your guy?
Joe LongoOne of them. One of my team. Anyway.
Dr. Tami BerryThat's good.
Joe LongoSo everyone that's here, wherever you're listening on Tammy's podcast, which is called
